Keith Kritselis - Creative, Adaptive, Problem Solver

Media Producer

1990 - 1994

In the early 90's, I worked professionally as a video camera operator on a variety of remote and studio shoots for clients like 501 studios (Texas state lottery broadcasts) and MPA (misc. live to tape and satellite broadcasts).  I also worked as an editor on 20+ long and short form video projects.
An early adopter of digital non-linear editing, I was asked by SXSW to lead a special session on desktop video production at the 1st interactive festival(1994).

1993 - 1995

A part-time teaching position with a non-profit  turned into a full-time job running the first media lab in Austin.  It was here that I began using and teaching a variety of digital media applications like Photoshop (image editing), Premiere (video editing), Lightwave (3D animation), and SE16 (multi-track sound editing).  Initially the goal was to create content for the exploding CD-Rom market, but during my time there the internet popped up and with it came applications like Flash, and a whole host of website building apps. When ACC and UT created their own media labs, I was one of the industry professionals asked to sit on an advisory panel.

1994 - 1999

Working for a couple agencies, I created CD-Rom and web projects for clients like:GSD&M, Cornerstone Securities, Don't Mess with Texas, Coke, AMD, Motorola, BellSouth, and BellSouth.net.  This also included a few web and CD based games.

2000 - 2008

I continued to create multimedia projects, but also focused on creating 2D and 3D animation.  I had a relationship with the innovation department of Rayovac, Inc. where I created product visualizations for new flashlight and emergency equipment designs.  I also created a series of crime scene visualizations for a number of criminal defense attorneys, and am a recognized expert by the Travis and Williamson county criminal and civil courts.

A notable interactive project I created during this period was a complete redesign of an Alcohol Education Project called Fatal Reflections.  In the original software, a user could take a digital photo and import it into the software and add 'wounds' to the image to simulate the outcome of an alcohol related crash.  They wanted to add a webcam to make it easier to capture images, and I suggested that they take it further and incorporate the 'wound' images along with submitted text data to create a custom multimedia presentation.  I wrote the software from the ground up and delivered 6 additional story modules a year later.

2008 - 2010

I took a full time position with a defense sub-contractor to develop online training modules for the US Marines. I worked with Subject Matter Experts, artists, and programmers to create SCORM compliant distance learning content for US MarineNet.  The bulk of the work created here is under a non-disclosure agreement and cannot be shared, but references are available.

2010 - 2012

I taught part-time (Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 with a focus on web development) and worked on contract jobs for two years.
